Protocol

Another name for an agreement. Originally a protocol was considered a somewhat less formal document than a treaty, but that is a distinction no longer valid. A protocol may be an agreement in its own right. It also may constitute added sections which clarify or alter an agreement, or it may be used to add new subjects of agreement to the original document.



موافقتنامۀ مقدماتی یا پروتوکول

پروتوکول اسمی دیگری یک توافقناه می باشد. در اصل، پروتوکول به سندی می گفتند که نسبت به معاهده کمتر رسمی بود ولی این تفاوت دیگر باقی نیست. پروتوکول به تنهایی می تواند یک توافقنامه باشد. پروتوکول می تواند شامل ضمایم افزوده شده جهت توضیح و یا تغییر موافقتنامه ی باشد و یا می توان با استفاده از آن موضوعات جدیدی را به یک سند قبلی اضافه کرد.
